Prescriptions

How do I get a copy of my contact lens prescription?

Contact lens prescriptions are released after the fitting process has been completed. You’ll be given a copy by your optometrist at your appointment or:

  • Sign on to your kp.org account.
  • Call the Eye Care Service Team at 1-800-664-9225 press 4 then press 2, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

If you do not receive care at a Kaiser Permanente Eye Care location, request a copy of your contact lens prescription from your optometrist.

How long is my prescription valid?

Contact lens prescriptions are usually valid for two years, with some exceptions. Regular eye exams help to maintain good eye health.

What if I only want contact lenses to change my eye color?

All contact lenses must be fitted by an optometrist and require a valid prescription to place an order. Make an appointment for an eye exam and contact lens fitting with an optometrist.
